British Columbia is home to some of the world’s richest pine forests, which have been harvested as timber for hundreds of years. The government of British Columbia began to support and formally require reforestation of harvested lands back in the 1970s and 1980s. During this time, the government founded a number of research stations to improve tree growth and reforestation practices. Our team visited the Kalamalka Research Station and Seed Orchard in Vernon, BC back in March 2016. The folks there were very friendly and full of knowledge. Thanks guys!!
