Canadian pine pollen is unlike any other; we bring this powerful substance to you as it's found in nature, meaning we do not crack the cell wall. Breaking the cell wall dramatically enhances oxidation (how quickly the pine pollen loses nutritive value). Our pine pollen is tree to jar - just as nature intended.
Pine Pollen contains fatty acids, 20+ amino acids, 14 vitamins, 24 minerals, 18 active enzymes, phytoandrogens, and more! Pine pollen's potential health benefits include enhanced immunity, anti-aging effects, lowered blood fat, improvement of digestion, strengthening of coronary arteries, increased vascular strength, increased energy/endurance, enhanced brain function, weight loss, heightened agility, healthier skin/hair/nails, improved moods, balanced hormone levels, detoxification, and elevated liver health.
The use of pine pollen dates back millennia, with its use as medicine first documented in the Xin Xiu Ben Cao (Tang Materia Medica), written in 657 C.E. and widely regarded as the first official Materia Medica of China. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, pine pollen is a liver, spleen, kidney, heart, and lung tonic - explaining its far-reaching, broad-spectrum health benefits.
Japanese pine pollen studies have demonstrated anti-aging effects, such as the reversal of graying hair as well as regrowing hair lost due to age. Pine pollen also holds a special status as a beauty aid and may lighten scars and other blemishes.
At Canadian Pine Pollen Co., we wild-harvest and fair-trade this one of a kind forest food. We handpick our pollen from the most pristine forests in all of western Canada. Additionally, our protocols for sustainable harvesting are stringent, and the gold standard in wild forest management. Try our pine pollen and feel the difference!
Pine pollen is surprisingly delicious, having a mild, dry, and subtle piney taste and smell. This versatile forest-sourced superfood lends itself well to many drinks and recipes. Our pollen can be mixed into elixirs, smoothies, cocktails, oatmeal, yogurt, tea, or coffee, and adds a creamy texture alongside a nutrient-rich boost of vitamins, minerals, and phytoandrogens.
For the hardcore who take it straight, we recommend mixing raw pine pollen powder with a small amount of water, then holding that in the mouth/under the tongue for at least one minute. This gives your body the best chance of absorbing all the delicate phytoandrogens present in the pine pollen.
Pine pollen is the naturally occurring yellow dust inside the red (Ponderosa) and yellow (Lodgepole) male cones. Pine cones are the female part of the tree, with the pollen-producing catkins being the male. Live, whole, uncracked cell-wall pine pollen packs over 200 bioactive phytonutrients, including antioxidants, flavonoids, amino acid, vitamins, minerals, and best of all - phytoandrogens. These plant-based male hormones - known as brassinosteroids - positively influence human hormone function. Pine pollen is the number one dietary source of these vital nutritive compounds.
Every Spring, we set out to the Canadian wilderness to bring you nature’s best pine pollen. Our wild harvest takes place across B.C., and variations in taste occur - each region produces pollen with unique terroir, much like the grapes in fine wine. After harvest, we gently air dry the pollen at low temperatures before placing it in cold storage. We have an undying commitment to land stewardship that has set industry standards for sustainable and wild-harvesting techniques. We also maintain mutually beneficial partnerships with landowners, as well as seasonal harvesters that receive a fair, living wage for their meticulous and back-breaking work. Thanks to our gentle drying and processing techniques, Canadian Pine Pollen always contains a full-spectrum of nutrients - intact from nature.
Phytoandrogens: Plant-based nutrients that mimic human male hormones involved in energy, motivation, muscle building, mood, libido, and more.
Other Plant Hormones: Pine pollen has five additional plant hormones; auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, ethylene and abscisic acid (ABA). All five have high biological activity that includes antiviral, anti-cancer, and anabolic effects, as well as the ability to stimulate immune function and stem cell growth.
Glutathione: The human body’s most powerful antioxidant, essential for immunity and detoxification.
Superoxide Dismutase (SOD): A powerful anti-inflammatory catalyst involved in skin and tissue repair.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM): A sulfuric compound that improves digestion and energy expenditure.
Hand-harvested and minimally processed - we use sustainable and straightforward techniques to extract the pollen from the male cones. Our pollen is raw, untreated, and in its natural state - we don’t cook, steam, microwave sterilize, or crack the cell wall (breaking the cell wall of pine pollen is a controversial issue that goes against millennia of wisdom). We store every batch of pine pollen in cold storage before shipping. All of our products meet the highest standards of GMP and ISO certification and are also certified safe by the Safe Quality Food Institute.
We started this venture to wild harvest enough pine pollen to last us each for one year.
